Over the years, the growing sales and expanding partner network have made it necessary for us to continuously develop and modernize our production technology, raw material and finished product handling, while fully considering and complying with food safety and hygiene requirements for the entire plant and warehouse areas. Therefore, since 2018, our company has been using a food safety system developed by an external expert and certified according to the IFS international standard.

BUT WHAT IS IFS?

IFS is an International Food Standard for food safety, which applies a unified evaluation system for the qualification and selection of suppliers, helps retailers maintain the food safety chain of their products, and monitors the quality levels of food products sold under the retailers' own brands. The IFS standard applies to every step of food processing, from suppliers through production to delivery to customers. The requirements are related to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system, which is supported by detailed prerequisite programs, which are part of the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), and GHP (Good Hygiene Practice) requirement systems.

With its help, we have built and operate a management system that enables us to better meet food safety requirements and related regulations. We are able to precisely track our incoming raw materials and packaging materials all the way through to the production of semi-finished and finished products, as well as monitor the traceability of our finished products from storage to delivery to customers. We have become capable of improving, effectively monitoring, and measuring food safety performance. We have significantly reduced the amount of waste generated during production and minimized the possibility of a product recall or withdrawal. Therefore, our purchasing, manufacturing, packaging, and transportation technologies fully meet the highest requirements, and our products are traceable from the field to the consumer's table.

 

Bio - Only Naturally

"In the European Union – and thus in our country as well – agricultural products, foodstuffs, and animal feed may only be sold with the ecological (eco, bio, organic) label if they have been produced in compliance with the applicable community and national regulations, under the supervision of a government-controlled certification system, and are certified (in Hungary, by a certificate issued by Biokontroll Hungária Nonprofit Kft.)."

How can you know that the bio finished product contains bio ingredients?

During the on-site inspection, it is verified that all agricultural raw materials arriving at the facility have reliable and authentic certification regarding their organic origin. The term "organic product" is synonymous with "ecological product," meaning that the product is made using raw materials that were produced without the use of chemicals, and only biodegradable or natural substances were used during cultivation. The use of genetically modified raw materials or their derivatives is prohibited during production, and the soil where the raw materials were grown must not have been treated with chemicals for at least three years. With the exception of mung bean sprouts, all BIO CSIRI sprouts are certified organic products. We are proud to supply the SPAR Hungary chain with the broccoli, leek, and organic mixed sprouts, which are part of the SPAR Natur*pur organic product range.
